The number of museums is a dream. There is the Museum of Fine Arts, which houses amazing works of European masters, as well as American heritage and contemporary art. Historic Sites

Visit the small wooden home of Paul Revere House from which the silversmith departed for his legendary ride into history. Checkout the Old North Church and see the steeple where two lanterns were hung, prompting Paul Revere’s famous ride and the start of the Revolution. Stand on the spot where the Colonists launched the Boston Tea Party and spurred the American Revolution at the Old South Meeting House Museum. Visit the Old State House Museum where the Declaration of Independence was first read to the people of Boston.

Get a glimpse of 19th- and early 20th-century life in a historic Beacon Hill townhouse at the Nichols House Museum or visit the Old Sturbridge Village to learn about America in the 1830s. Step inside the elegant world of Boston’s governing class after the Revolution at the Harrison Otis House Museum. Explore three centuries of architecture, maritime history, and the literary legacy of Nathaniel Hawthorne in historic Salem, Mass at the House of the Seven Gables. Learn about the hysteria of Salem’s 1692 witch trials at the Salem Witch Museum.

Take the wheel at the Liberty Fleet Tall Ship Adventure, set the sails, fire the cannon, throw tea in the harbor, feast on sumptuous fare, or just sit back and enjoy the sights and beauty of Boston Harbor and Islands.

You can also visit the Plimoth Plantation, which is a living history museum. It recreated the ship Mayflower II to give you a glimpse into the life of New England’s first European settlers.
